Request for Approval to Increase Adult Meal Prices

 2014-2015
Adult Breakfast:  $1.75
Visitor Breakfast:  $2.25

Adult Lunch:  $3.00
Visitor Lunch:  $3.75

Federal Regulations require that adult meal prices be at least the free reimbursement rate plus the “commodity rate”.  These rates have not been published yet for the 2015-2016 school year, but for the 2014-2015 school year, these rates were $3.06 (free reimbursement) for lunch, $1.93 (free reimbursement) for breakfast, and $0.29 (commodity).  Normally, these rates increase by a few cents annually.  Therefore, we are requesting an increase for the 2015-2016 school year in order to be compliant with regulations.

Requested increases for 2015-2016:

Adult Breakfast $2.30
Visitor Breakfast $2.50

Adult Lunch:  $3.50
Visitor Lunch:  $3.75

Staff Recommendation:

I concur with Mrs. Judy Denman's recommendations and request the Board’s approval of the above-noted increase.
